Fixit exists as an independent application with which universities can partner. Creating an independent application removes the cost and development burden for educational institutions. The mobile application also makes maintenance requests more accessible to students, and the youthful brand, combined with ease of use and an added reward system, drives usage and tangible results.

I decided that the best way to display my response to the prompt was through a combination of visual and interaction design as well as design writing, as they are the parts of UX which excite me the most.

 
 

From the student perspective

I also wanted to experiment with the administrative side of the app in order to understand the staff perspective and experience. Below are mock ups of the staff path, created using Adobe Illustrator and Figma.

Once staff members mark a maintenance request as resolved, the student who submitted the request is notified.
