UX WRITING & ART DIRECTION

Developer Student Clubs Promotional Content

As vice president of USC’s DSC chapter, I manage the creation of promotional & graphic content as well as a multitude of administrative tasks. Developer Student Clubs are university-based community groups for students interested in Google developer technologies, with the mission of building solutions for local businesses throughout our community. Regarding UX writing, I worked with my team to revise and improve the strength of our material’s written content.

FIRST VERSION

I was tasked with creating digital flyers to advertise our upcoming “study jam.”

Our original goal was to be as informative as possible with our promotional material, as DSC was new to USC’s campus. However, our first version was a bit too wordy, and proved to be overwhelming for readers.

SECOND VERSION

Upon reviewing, I adjusted our written content to be more concise, with a more visually stimulating layout.

However, the written content was still too heavy, and our team agreed that the new layout was distracting.

FINAL VERSION

My final attempt to organize our content reduced the amount of text and increased legibility.

The layout and graphics were also adjusted, using color more strategically.
